A 415 yuan/tonne price gap between secondary refined and SMM #1 refined lead attracted more buyers, SMM reported.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 12 (SMM) – A 415 yuan per tonne price gap between secondary refined and SMM #1 refined lead attracted more buyers, SMM reported.

Average price for SMM #1 refined lead was 13,555 yuan per tonne versus 13,140 yuan per tonne for secondary refined lead. Thus, some secondary refined lead smelters reported decent sales thanks to the price gap edge.

Secondary refined lead mainly settled at 13,050-13,200 yuan per tonne (tax included) with average price down 10 yuan per tonne.

Some lead-acid battery producers cut production and showed little buying interest in the battery sluggish season.
